Home > Q4. Our group/organization has recently installed or updated to Floating License Server version 12.6. What changes should users make to their clients in order to access the new Floating License Server?
A client should do the following to access the new Floating License Server:
- Navigate to <GeneSpring Installation directory/bin/license> folder.
- Backup and delete all the files.
- Launch GeneSpring.
- Select Shared license in the License Activation Dialog.

Enter <port>@<FloatingServer>,
where <port> is the port on which the Floating License Server is running and <FloatingServer> is the host name or IP address of the machine where the Floating License Server has been installed (for example: 8080@192.168.1.25).
