Workflows for GeneSpring GX Statistical and Cross-Dataset Meta-Analysis
|
GeneSpring GX is a powerful bioinformatics software package, which can be used to analyse large datasets and also provide useful visualisation tools for publishing and reporting purposes. Many types of data can be imported either as .txt or .csv files, therefore any data which is represented in numeric format can be analysed or displayed using this tool. We in the Diagnostic technologies group at Public Health England use this software package routinely for analysis of small to very large datasets, mostly differential gene expression using microarrays to analyse human immune responses to infection. This is with a view to identifying biomarkers expressed by immune cells in the peripheral blood which can be used to develop tests to diagnose infection. This is especially important in cases where diagnostic options are inadequate or absent in difficult diagnostic spaces.
